Borderland is a musical plea for letting go of painstakingly applying and guarding boundaries. The video piece shows performers standing in the Markermeer, playing red-
fired whistles made from the very clay they are standing on. It is a poetic view of clay’s material history, reclaiming land from water and the human urge to shape and modify nature.
